![]() Carpeted stairs are perhaps one of the most dirtied carpet areas in your household. Carpets on your stairs are without a doubt the carpets in your house that are walked on the most, as they are constantly walked on and one of the most accessed parts of your house. Whether people are walking on your stairs with out without shoes, it is very possible that they are tracking dirt, mud, sweat, and water onto your carpets.
People are constantly tracking dirt into a house, and the stairs are the easiest target. Being constantly walked upon means feet and shoes are constantly tracking in dirt and leaving behind particles and stains to be cleaned. Grass stains are incredibly difficult to get out, as well as mud, blood and sweat. Sweat can leave an odor in your carpet, as well as pet urine, so making sure to have your stair carpets cleaned and shampooed, not just vacuumed, is important for not only making your stairs look clean, but smell and feel clean. Oftentimes, if you live upstairs, you put your shoes on in the morning from your closet before you go downstairs. This means that you are tracking dirt and mud, and even grass, up and down the carpet of your stairs with you. Little clumps of dirt on your shoe will not only get on your carpet, but get inbedded in your carpet as you are stepping on it and further grinding it into the carpet. Often, you may be pushing the dirt so far into your carpet that it might not be noticeable because it is so far hidden and embedded in the carpet fibers. Any material that is on your shoe will not only be left on the carpet, but pushed far down into the fabric because of the weight of your body on your shoes. This means that you will need to clean down deep in your carpet in order to get all of the residue out. While you might argue that vacuuming will get rid of the dirt, or the mud if you let it dry, there still may be mud or grass stains that are at the bottom of the carpet fibers, which means running a vacuum along the top of the carpet will not penetrate deep enough to remove the stain, but simply gloss over it. Even if you do not wear shoes on the carpets of your stairs, you can still leave residue behind from bare feet. Sweat, dirt, and dead skins cells on your feet can be left behind and remain on your carpet, whether you can see it or not. Having your carpets deep cleaned is a great idea, as it makes the carpet you are walking on fresh and safe. Sharp and harmful objects can get lodged in your carpet unbeknownst to you, so making sure your carpets are clean, especially if your carpets are long, fluffy, or plush, is important in keeping your family safe. If someone drops a pin, a rock, a piece of glass, or any other small and sharp object in your carpet and it is not cleaned, you are at risk of puncturing and injuring yourself. Give us a call today to have your stair carpets cleaned so that they are safe and comfortable for you and your family, including your pets, to walk on, whether it is with their bare feet or their shoes!
